Role Summary
The EDA Optimisation Engineer will improve utilisation, efficiency and cost-performance of Arm's engineering compute platforms, spanning HPC, cloud, emulation and FPGA environments. The role sits in the Productivity Engineering team and focuses on metrics-first, data-driven optimisation, automation and scalable analytics.

Responsibilities
Deliver data-driven improvements to platform efficiency and support strategic decisions about compute and infrastructure.
- Optimise HPC scheduling and infrastructure to increase utilisation and cost-effectiveness.
- Design and run performance benchmarking to inform platform choices.
- Develop dashboards and visualisations for observability and performance analysis.
- Analyse cost and usage reports and infrastructure metrics to support forecasting and budgeting.
- Build and maintain scalable analytics frameworks to measure utilisation, capacity and workload behaviour.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations and finance teams to enable data-driven decisions.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and domain experience.
- Background in distributed HPC, cloud environments, and data engineering & analytics.
- Knowledge of EDA workflows and semiconductor engineering environments.
- Proficiency in Python and data analysis / ML frameworks.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable strategy.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with IBM Spectrum LSF or other job schedulers.
- Familiarity with NetApp or other high-performance storage systems.
- Experience applying AI/ML to workload optimisation or resource management.
- Experience building production-grade data pipelines.
- Exposure to FPGA and Emulation infrastructure.
