EDA (Electronic Design Automation) Engineer

Role Summary

Support and enhance the semiconductor design environment by evaluating, implementing, and maintaining EDA tools and design flows. Act as a consultant to design teams, provide regional APAC support, and drive efficiency, quality, and faster time-to-market across business groups.

Experience Level

Mid-level (6+ years of relevant experience in EDA tools or semiconductor design environments).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include tool evaluation, automation, regional support, and standardization.

• Evaluate the EDA tool landscape and recommend solutions aligned with design roadmaps.
• Consult with designers and stakeholders to define and meet technical and roadmap requirements.
• Provide APAC regional support for EDA tools: development, project setup, deployment, and maintenance.
• Develop Python-based applications and integration scripts to automate and support design flows.
• Create and maintain EDA interface scripts for efficient, scalable flows.
• Identify and implement alternative tools to improve quality, cost efficiency, or time-to-market.
• Standardize and scale successful solutions across multiple business groups.
• Provide technical support for models, DRCs, PDKs, TCAD, PCMs, and TOs; learn new domains quickly when required.

Requirements

Must-have skills and attributes.

• 6+ years' experience with EDA tools, semiconductor design environments, or related engineering domains.
• Strong programming skills in Python; familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl, Ruby, or TCL.
• Understanding of semiconductor design processes and design flows.
• Knowledge or affinity with TCAD, PDKs, and device modeling.
• Experience in data processing and analysis.
• Proactive, self-driven, with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to evaluate, deploy, and standardize tools and workflows across teams.
• Open-minded and curious about new technologies and EDA innovations.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Electronics, or a related field.
