QualcommJob Title
EDA/CAD Software Engineer
Role Summary
Develop CAD tools, flows, and algorithms for emulation and VLSI design within Qualcomm's Global CAD team. Focus areas include synthesis, partitioning, place-and-route, clock optimization, and compute/storage efficiency for SoC emulation.
The role delivers production CAD software, collaborates with design teams, and mentors other engineers to meet Qualcomm's emulation and infrastructure needs.
Experience Level
Mid-level; 2+ years of relevant engineering or software development experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include developing CAD software and algorithms for emulation, optimizing compute/storage, and collaborating across teams.
- Design, implement, and maintain CAD software and emulation algorithms (synthesis, partitioning, P&R, clock optimization).
- Work with industry-standard EDA tools and integrations to solve infrastructure needs.
- Optimize compute and storage resources for CAD workflows and emulation runs.
- Produce reliable, maintainable software following design best practices and patterns.
- Collaborate with SoC design, verification, and infrastructure teams to deliver customer-facing tools.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers; participate in code reviews and technical planning.
Requirements
