Job Title

DSP Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and evaluate DSP and calibration solutions for high-speed serial links and photonic/electrical interfaces. Work includes system-level modeling, control/closed-loop design, and converting algorithms into fixed-point implementations for collaboration with digital and hardware teams.

Position sits on a mixed-signal/systems team supporting implementation and verification of calibration, control, and link-performance features across photonic and electrical components.

Experience Level

Entry-level — suitable for candidates with approximately 0–2 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on system analysis, modeling, and translating algorithms to implementable digital designs.

  • Analyze serial link performance and derive specifications for each stage of the signal chain.
  • Design and develop calibration processes and closed-loop control systems; convert algorithms to fixed-point formats for digital implementation.
  • Model photonic and electrical components to evaluate and optimize system-level performance.
  • Collaborate with hardware and digital design teams to translate models into implementable solutions (FPGA/ASIC targets).
  • Support debugging, testing, and iterative performance improvement during integration and validation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and domain knowledge.

  • Proficient in MATLAB for system modeling and simulation.
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills.
  • Deep understanding of continuous-time and discrete-time signals.
  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital communication systems.
  • Solid foundation in control theory and closed-loop system design.
  • Experience working with hardware and digital design teams to implement algorithms in fixed-point formats.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with HDL (VHDL or Verilog).
  • Knowledge of digital design implementation on FPGA/ASIC.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Communications, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Suitable for candidates with approximately 0–2 years of relevant work experience.
