Dry Etch Process Engineer
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Dry Etch Process Engineer
Role Summary
The Dry Etch Process Engineer will start up, develop, and optimize dry etch and related microfabrication processes to improve product quality, yield, cost, and productivity on DRAM manufacturing lines. The role works with cross-functional teams including equipment, integration, and manufacturing engineering to identify root causes and implement robust process solutions.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Candidates typically have prior semiconductor manufacturing experience; an AAS requires 5+ years of industry experience per the posting, while BS/MS in an engineering field is also accepted.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include process development, yield improvement, and problem resolution for dry etch steps in DRAM production.
- Start up, develop, and optimize dry etch processes and related microfabrication steps.
- Drive yield, defectivity, cost, and productivity improvements through data-driven process changes.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing line problems; provide technical support to production.
- Collaborate with equipment and integrations engineers to identify and remediate production issues.
- Manage projects to meet milestones that close yield, defectivity, production, and cost gaps.
- Own and improve SPC (statistical process control) charts and process control metrics.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and work conditions; preferred skills listed separately.
- Strong dry etch and microfabrication expertise applicable to semiconductor manufacturing.
- Experience in DRAM development and high-volume DRAM manufacturing.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with equipment, integration, and production teams.
