Dry Etch Process Engineer
Role Summary
Process engineer responsible for maintaining and improving dry etch processes in an 8" semiconductor fabrication environment. The role supports Equipment and Process Engineering (EPE) and Manufacturing to ensure process performance, yield, throughput and product quality.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting does not specify years of experience; experience in a semiconductor fab or with plasma-based processing is preferred.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on process performance, problem solving, and implementing process improvements across manufacturing.
- Maintain and document up-to-date procedures and validated processes that meet safety and quality standards.
- Analyze and resolve complex process performance issues; reduce scrap, repeaters and bottlenecks.
- Drive implementation of improvement actions, coordinating with Manufacturing, PSE and other departments.
- Contribute technical expertise to improvement projects to enhance product quality and throughput.
- Define tool capacity needs, support tool upgrades and maintenance, and address safety concerns on the shop floor.
- Coordinate quality-related escalations with customers and support production progress.
Requirements

- Proven experience in process engineering or manufacturing environments; hands-on, pragmatic approach and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to engage stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Proactive ownership mindset, ability to prioritize and work independently in a high-tech production environment.
- Nice-to-have: experience with plasma-based etch processes, semiconductor fabrication experience, and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, statistical process control (SPC), FMEA and Quality Management Systems.
Education Requirements
BSc or MSc level in Physics, Chemistry or another relevant technical field (as stated in the posting).
