Job Title
DRAM Product Engineer - LPDDR Design for Test
Role Summary
Product engineering role focused on LPDDR DRAM test and qualification across NPI and high-volume manufacturing. The engineer will develop and maintain test flows, analyze failures, validate circuit functionality, and drive root-cause fixes with design and process teams.
Work is performed within a cross-functional, global product engineering organization supporting mobile, automotive, and data center applications.
Experience Level
Mid-level. No explicit years-of-experience stated.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include leading test and product engineering activities to ensure yield and quality from bring-up through HVM.
- Develop and maintain test flows and test programs for LPDDR products during NPI and HVM.
- Perform failure analysis using tester data, electrical failure analysis (EFA), probe/wafer data, and silicon characterization.
- Validate circuit functionality and electrical performance across operating conditions.
- Drive root-cause identification and implement corrective actions with Circuit Design and Fab Process teams.
- Support NPI activities: bring-up, characterization, cross-site handover, and manufacturing scale-up.
- Collaborate with global teams in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Process Integration, Application Engineering, and Test Solutions.
- Integrate AI-assisted tools and digital automation into analysis and process improvements where appropriate.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities.
- Experience with electrical failure analysis (EFA), process failure analysis (PFA), wafer-level testing, burn-in, reliability testing, and test program development.
- Understanding of semiconductor devices and DRAM fundamentals, including IC build and test flows.
- Data-driven problem-solving skills; ability to analyze yield, reliability, and tester data.
- Basic programming or scripting ability for test-data analysis and automation.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams; strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with LPDDR architecture and JEDEC specifications is a strong plus.
Nice-to-have / preferred:
- Hands-on LPDDR or DRAM product engineering experience, including probe (wafer-level) and backend test flows, burn-in systems, or stress-test hardware.
- Experience supporting NPI ramps and manufacturing scale-up.
- Experience automating test-data analysis and building test-data workflows.
- Japanese language capability.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Desired background in VLSI, Semiconductor Physics, or Nanotechnology. Japanese language capability is a plus.
