The role partners with Design, Product Engineering, and System Architecture teams and supports power targets throughout the product development lifecycle.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting specifies 3+ years of relevant industry experience (or advanced degree as described in Education Requirements).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include analysis, modeling, and collaboration to improve DRAM power efficiency.

  • Perform AI-assisted DRAM power analysis, including IDD characterization, workload-based modeling, and power breakdown analysis.
  • Develop and maintain power models, methodologies, and tools to evaluate DRAM architectures and power-performance tradeoffs.
  • Translate system and customer power requirements into recommendations that drive architectural and product decisions.
  • Define and support DRAM power targets throughout product development.
  • Partner with Design, Product Engineering, and System Architecture teams to identify and implement power improvements.

Requirements

Must-have vs. nice-to-have qualifications.

  • Must-have: 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Must-have: Experience in at least two of the following areas: DRAM architecture, memory subsystems, semiconductor fundamentals, power analysis, modeling, simulation, architecture evaluation, or technical data analysis.
  • Must-have: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and develop solutions.
  • Must-have: Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively across engineering teams.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with DRAM power analysis (IDD metrics, power characterization), workload-based power modeling, memory controller behavior, system-level power analysis, automation/tool development, architectural evaluation methodologies, or competitive benchmarking to influence product decisions.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field plus 3+ years of relevant industry experience; alternatively, a Master's degree or PhD in a related field. Related technical fields include computer engineering, computer science, physics, or similar disciplines.
