DRAM Manufacturing Specialist

Role Summary

Technical manufacturing interface to DRAM suppliers based in Taiwan. Owns qualification, test strategy, failure investigation and production readiness for DDR5 DRAM devices used in Fractile systems.

Hands-on role working with silicon design, quality and operations teams to move devices from engineering samples through qualification into volume production.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The role requires substantial prior experience in DRAM manufacturing, product engineering, test engineering or device characterisation; specific years of experience are not specified.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include supplier management, test strategy definition, failure analysis and driving production readiness.

• Own the technical manufacturing relationship with DRAM suppliers and coordinate qualification plans and production readiness.
• Translate device requirements into manufacturing specifications, test coverage and acceptance criteria with design and supplier teams.
• Review DRAM architecture and circuit implementation, including cells, sense amps, decoders, redundancy and peripheral logic.
• Define and review test strategies for wafer probe, package testing, characterisation, qualification and production screening.
• Ensure test programmes cover functional, parametric, timing, retention, coupling and disturb-related failures across voltage, temperature and frequency conditions.
• Analyse wafer maps, bit-failure maps, yield trends and characterisation data to identify root causes and drive corrective actions with suppliers.
• Establish correlation between supplier test results and Fractile device/system evaluation; resolve gaps or inconsistent results.
• Assess and manage supplier process, material and test-programme changes and their qualification impact.
• Drive improvements in yield, outgoing quality and test efficiency as products enter volume production.
• Communicate technical risks, qualification progress and manufacturing readiness to internal teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for immediate contribution. Desirable skills are listed separately.

• Must-have: Substantial experience in DRAM manufacturing, product engineering, test engineering or device characterisation.
• Hands-on experience with DDR5 DRAM development, qualification or production testing.
• Deep understanding of DRAM structure and operation at gate and transistor level, including memory-cell behaviour and analogue sensing circuits.
• Practical experience selecting and implementing DRAM test strategies, and interpreting circuit schematics, timing diagrams and failure signatures.
• Experience working directly with DRAM suppliers and driving technical issues to resolution.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise issues and make sound engineering decisions in a fast-growing company.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Nice-to-have: custom DRAM development and NPI, redundancy/repair flows and on-die ECC evaluation, reliability qualification/burn-in, statistical analysis and scripting (Python, JMP), Mandarin language skills.

Education Requirements

Degree in electrical engineering, electronics, semiconductor physics or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience. The posting explicitly allows equivalent practical/industry experience in lieu of a degree.
