DRAM Device & Cell Technology Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and optimize DRAM cell and access device technologies to improve density, retention, reliability, and disturb immunity. Work on silicon experiments, electrical characterization, and array-level analysis while collaborating with circuit, fabrication, and reliability teams to validate next-generation DRAM architectures.

Responsibilities

Own technical tasks from experiment design through data analysis and roadmap input; collaborate across functions to ensure scalable, robust solutions.

  • Develop DRAM cell and access device technologies to improve density, retention, and disturb immunity.
  • Design, build, and conduct silicon experiments; perform in-depth electrical characterization and data analysis.
  • Analyze array-level behaviors and collaborate with circuit teams to optimize operation sequences.
  • Integrate solutions with multi-functional teams to ensure scalability and robustness.
  • Contribute to the technology roadmap and benchmark internal capabilities against industry standards.

Requirements

  • Must-have: Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics (MOSFETs, access devices, capacitors).
  • Experience in electrical characterization, device testing, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with DRAM operation fundamentals (activation, sensing, disturb mechanisms).
  • Skilled in scripting and data-analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, and JMP.
  • Ability to design and execute silicon experiments and interpret test results.
  • Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with DRAM or NAND device development, TCAD simulation experience (Synopsys Sentaurus, Silvaco), semiconductor fabrication or advanced BEOL integration, and knowledge of reliability mechanisms and device variation analysis.
  • Clear communication skills to present experimental results and drive cross-team alignment.

Education Requirements

M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, or a related technical field.
