Role Summary

Join Micron's DRAM and Cell Technology team to define and optimize next-generation DRAM architectures and device technologies. The role focuses on developing, testing, and scaling cell and access device solutions to improve memory density, retention, and reliability.

Responsibilities

Deliver experimental and analytical work to mature DRAM cell and access-device solutions and integrate results with cross-functional teams.

  • Develop DRAM cell and access device technologies to improve density, retention, and disturb immunity.
  • Design, build, and execute silicon experiments; perform electrical characterization and data analysis.
  • Analyze array-level behavior and collaborate with circuit teams to optimize operation sequences.
  • Work with multi-functional teams to ensure scalability and robustness of solutions.
  • Contribute to the technology roadmap and benchmark internal capabilities against industry standards.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience plus several preferred skills listed separately.

  • Must-have: Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics (MOSFETs, access devices, capacitors).
  • Experience in electrical characterization, device testing, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with DRAM operation fundamentals (activation, sensing, disturb mechanisms).
  • Proficient in scripting and data analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, and JMP.
  • Nice-to-have: Hands-on DRAM or NAND device development experience; TCAD experience (Synopsys Sentaurus, Silvaco); semiconductor fabrication or advanced BEOL integration; reliability mechanism and device variation analysis.
  • Ability to communicate experimental results clearly and drive cross-team alignment.

Education Requirements

M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, or a related field.
