DRAM Device & Cell Technology Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and optimize DRAM cell and access device technologies to enable next-generation DRAM architectures. Work on silicon experiments, electrical characterization, and cross-functional integration with circuit and process teams to deliver scalable, reliable memory products.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include device technology development, experimental execution, data analysis, and cross-team integration.

  • Develop DRAM cell and access device technologies to improve density, retention, and disturb immunity.
  • Design and perform silicon experiments; conduct detailed electrical characterization and data analysis.
  • Analyze array-level behaviors and collaborate with circuit teams to optimize operation sequences.
  • Integrate with process, integration, and product teams to ensure scalability and robustness of solutions.
  • Contribute to the technology roadmap and benchmark internal capabilities against industry standards.

Requirements

Key technical must-haves and preferred qualifications.

  • Must-have: Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics (MOSFETs, access devices, capacitors).
  • Must-have: Experience in electrical measurement, device evaluation, and interpretation of characterization data.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with DRAM operation fundamentals (activation, sensing, disturb mechanisms).
  • Must-have: Proficiency in scripting and data analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, and JMP.
  • Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with DRAM or NAND device development.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with TCAD simulation tools (e.g., Synopsys Sentaurus, Silvaco).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience in semiconductor fabrication or advanced BEOL integration; knowledge of reliability mechanisms and device variation analysis.
  • Nice-to-have: Clear oral and written communication skills to present experimental results and align cross-functional teams.

Education Requirements

M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, or a related field is specified as the minimum qualification.
