DRAM Design Working Student (Munich)

Role Summary

Join the DRAM design team at Micron's Munich Development Center to gain hands-on experience in integrated circuit design. Work with engineers on real DRAM projects, support design, simulation and verification tasks, and optionally define and complete a Master's thesis aligned with team goals.

Experience Level

Entry-level student position (working student / master's thesis candidate). Prior coursework or project experience in IC design is beneficial; exact years of experience not specified.

Responsibilities

Support DRAM design tasks under supervision and contribute to team engineering work.

  • Support design and simulation of analog or digital circuit blocks under guidance
  • Assist in developing schematics at the transistor level or RTL
  • Participate in functional verification and layout reviews
  • Contribute to testbench development and simulation setup
  • Document design processes and results for internal use or academic reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the full memory design flow
  • Use generative AI tools where appropriate to increase productivity
  • Optionally define and complete a Master's thesis in collaboration with the team

Requirements

Must-have skills and attributes for the role.

  • Strong understanding of CMOS circuit fundamentals
  • Interest in analog, mixed-signal, or digital IC design
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills
  • Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and work in a team environment

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Cadence / Synopsys IC design toolchains, SPICE, Verilog or VHDL
  • Scripting experience (Python, TCL) and familiarity with Linux environments
  • Previous coursework or projects in IC design or semiconductor engineering

Education Requirements

Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered. The role can be taken as a working student or as a Master's thesis project.
