DRAM Architect — Principal Engineer, MTS - TPG

Role Summary

Lead system-level DRAM architecture and memory-system solutions for current and future DRAM generations. Design and validate solutions that improve performance, power efficiency, and cost across products.

Work with cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate and implement memory-system innovations and mentor other engineers; apply data-driven analysis and AI where applicable.

Experience Level

Senior — minimum 7 years of experience in the memory or semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on architecture, evaluation, and cross-team delivery:

• Develop system-level solutions, tools, and methodologies to optimize DRAM performance, power efficiency, and cost.
• Analyze system behavior and assess solution effectiveness; perform data-driven optimizations and trade-offs.
• Drive architectural innovation for current and future generations of DRAM technologies.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to ideate, evaluate, and implement memory-system solutions.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and mentor team members through training and technical guidance.
• Use AI techniques in applicable job functions to enhance analysis and tooling.

Requirements

Core qualifications and preferred skills.

• Must-have:
  • Proven experience in memory design, product engineering, memory specifications/operations, or memory system architecture.
  • Strong understanding of DRAM architectures and system-level interactions.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and drive practical solutions.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the memory or semiconductor industry.
• Nice-to-have:
  • Experience with LPDDR5/6, DDR5/6, GDDR6/7, HBM3E/4 or other advanced memory technologies.
  • Deep understanding of industry trends, system-level trade-offs, and emerging memory technologies.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
