DPU Performance Validation Engineer
NVIDIAJob Title
DPU Performance Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Work on the Network Silicon Engineering team to validate and debug performance and functional behavior of NVIDIA DPU silicon across single-die and multi-die systems. Focus on pre-silicon performance characterization, RTL-level debug, waveform analysis, and system-level root-cause investigations in simulation and emulation environments.
Experience Level
Mid-level β minimum 3 years of ASIC development/validation experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include analyzing system behavior, debugging performance issues, and improving validation methodologies.
- Analyze system-level operation of DPU hardware and platform interactions.
- Debug and root-cause performance and functional issues in pre-silicon environments using RTL, waveform traces, and multi-die simulations.
- Collaborate with chip design, verification, architecture, firmware, and performance modeling teams to isolate and resolve issues.
- Develop and improve validation methodologies and performance experiments, including data collection and analysis.
- Automate repetitive debug and validation tasks to scale coverage and efficiency.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.
-
Must-have:
- 3+ years of experience in ASIC development or validation.
- Strong ASIC debug skills: reading RTL, waveform analysis, and root-cause investigation of functional and performance issues.
- Hands-on experience with system-level performance validation (die-level or multi-die).
- Proficiency in Python and C/C++ in a Linux environment.
- Experience working in simulation and emulation environments and familiarity with RTL-level debug workflows.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
-
Nice-to-have:
- Performance modeling, traffic generation, or architecture study experience.
- Experience with modern interconnects/protocols (PCIe, Ethernet, CHI).
- Familiarity with emulation platforms (Palladium, Veloce) or FPGA prototyping.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent; equivalent practical experience accepted.
