Job Title

DMTS, DRAM Systems

Role Summary

Lead system architecture, performance modeling, and workload analysis for DRAM and memory-centric systems across AI, HPC, cloud, and enterprise domains. Work within the architecture organization to define models, simulation frameworks, and product-impacting recommendations for memory, storage, and system-level designs.

Collaborate across hardware and software stacks, build rack- and cluster-scale simulations, and influence product strategy through quantitative analysis.

Experience Level

Senior-level β€” requires 15+ years of experience in system architecture, performance engineering, or infrastructure architecture.

Responsibilities

Major responsibilities include system modeling, workload characterization, and technical leadership:

  • Lead architecture exploration for next-generation AI, HPC, cloud, and enterprise systems.
  • Develop analytical and simulation models for memory hierarchy, CXL memory expansion, HBM systems, GPU-attached memory, storage-memory convergence, and rack-scale disaggregation.
  • Build and operate rack- and cluster-scale simulation environments to evaluate emerging workloads and architectures.
  • Characterize AI training and inference, cloud, database, storage, and HPC workloads; translate them into representative benchmarks and simulation models.
  • Identify system bottlenecks and recommend architectural innovations across memory, storage, and interconnects.
  • Drive cross-stack co-optimization spanning applications, frameworks, OS/runtime, memory subsystems, storage, and networking.
  • Quantify tradeoffs among performance, power, reliability, capacity, and total cost of ownership.
  • Provide technical leadership: define long-term modeling strategy, mentor senior architects and engineers, and represent the organization in standards, academic, and industry forums.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and skills (education listed separately):

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in system architecture, performance engineering, or infrastructure architecture.
  • Proven experience developing large-scale performance models and simulation frameworks.
  • Deep expertise in memory systems, storage systems, or AI infrastructure with demonstrated ability to influence product direction through quantitative analysis.
  • Strong track record of patents, publications, or recognized industry technical leadership.
  • Technical knowledge in several areas: computer architecture, memory hierarchy, DRAM/HBM/LPDDR, CXL, SSD/storage architecture, rack-scale systems, distributed systems, AI infrastructure, network fabrics, and GPU platforms.
  • Analytical modeling skills: performance modeling, queueing theory, Monte Carlo simulation, workload characterization, and performance optimization.
  • Practical experience with system simulators and modeling frameworks; Python and C++ based modeling; statistical analysis, benchmarking, telemetry, and capacity planning.
  • Nice-to-have: direct experience influencing product definitions for DRAM, HBM, CXL, SSD, and emerging memory technologies.

Education Requirements

PhD or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
