DMTS Design Engineering
GlobalFoundriesJob Title
Design Manager β Smart Analog & Sensors (DMTS)
Role Summary
Lead architecture, digital subsystem design, IP strategy, RTL execution, and end-to-end SoC integration for mixed-signal sensing platforms. Primary focus on digital architecture, IP integration, and delivering compute + control subsystems for automotive and industrial sensor applications.
Offer is conditioned on successful completion of applicable pre-employment checks. GlobalFoundries is an equal opportunity employer.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Specific years of experience are not stated.
Responsibilities
Accountable for technical leadership and program delivery across SoC development phases.
- Define SoC architecture and partition compute, interconnect, memory, security, and safety domains.
- Lead RTL micro-architecture, implementation, subsystem integration, and synthesis/timing closure.
- Develop and execute IP strategy: select, qualify, and integrate internal and third-party IP (processor cores, DSP/ML accelerators, peripherals).
- Drive hardware/software co-design and align system architecture with firmware and application requirements.
- Ensure design quality practices: lint, CDC/RDC checks, low-power intent (UPF), and interoperability verification.
- Coordinate with Design Verification, DFT, Physical Design, and product engineering; own delivery from specification through tapeout to silicon bring-up.
- Integrate analog/sensor front-ends (AFE, RF, data converters) into the digital SoC framework and optimize data-path partitioning, latency, power, and accuracy.
Requirements
Must-have technical leadership and hands-on SoC execution skills; nice-to-have items listed separately.
- Must-have: Proven experience leading SoC architecture and digital subsystem teams, including RTL design and top-level integration.
- Must-have: Deep knowledge of processor cores (example: RISC-V / MCU-class), DSP/ML accelerators, interconnects (NoC, bus fabrics), and memory hierarchies.
- Must-have: Strong RTL implementation, synthesis and timing-closure experience; familiarity with CDC/RDC, low-power intent (UPF), and handoff to DV/DFT/PD.
- Must-have: Experience managing IP selection, qualification, reuse strategy, and third-party IP integration.
- Must-have: Track record delivering SoC programs through tapeout and silicon bring-up, collaborating across verification, PD, and product teams.
- Nice-to-have: Prior work on sensor/analog integration (AFE, RF, converters), automotive or industrial sensing markets, and ML/AI accelerator integration.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
