Division MACH Product Development Applications Engineer (Master's/PhD New Grad)

Role Summary

Entry-level applications engineer position on the MACH (Measurement, Analytics and Control) team supporting product introduction and customer-facing application work for OVALiS and 5DA products. The role combines hands-on metrology system work, data analysis, and customer collaboration to identify root causes of patterning errors and implement control solutions.

Responsibilities

The role supports new product introduction, customer investigations, and technical transfer. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead activities for new product introduction: definition, characterization, alpha and beta testing.
  • Provide pre- and post-sales application support: define problem statements, resolve customer issues, and produce best-known-method (BKM) documents and training materials.
  • Work on-site with customer teams to gather and analyze data, diagnose root causes of patterning errors, and develop process/tool control solutions to improve yield.
  • Operate and perform hands-on work with KLA metrology systems and associated software.
  • Collaborate on technical papers and presentations for industry symposiums or journals.

Requirements

Must-have technical and professional qualifications (education items listed separately under Education Requirements):

  • Fluent English communication skills.
  • Ability to perform hands-on system operation and software-driven data analysis on metrology equipment.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify root causes and implement corrective actions with customers.
  • Willingness to work at customer sites as required.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with overlay, scanner tools, lithography, etch metrology, stress-related errors, or process development.

Education Requirements

Master's degree or Ph.D. strongly preferred; acceptable majors include Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Optics or closely related technical fields. The posting targets new graduates (0 years related work experience).
