Job Title
Distinguished Engineer, Production Silicon Diagnostics
Role Summary
Lead the strategy, methodology, and platform integration for production ATPG and memory diagnostics to enable yield learning, failure analysis (FA), and product ramp at scale. The role partners across design, DFT, test, product engineering, FA, yield, foundry, and EDA teams to make diagnostics a central engine for silicon learning.
Experience Level
Senior — requires extensive domain experience: the posting requests 20+ years in semiconductor engineering or related post‑silicon areas and 12+ years of technical leadership and people management experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include defining strategy, building scalable operating models, and delivering production diagnostics capability for advanced-node products.
- Define and lead the production diagnostics strategy for ATPG and memory diagnostics focused on yield/reliability learning, ramp acceleration, FA efficiency, and production scalability.
- Establish a multi-functional operating model across design, DFT, test, product engineering, FA, yield, foundry, and EDA partners.
- Drive advanced diagnostic capabilities for next-generation ramps, including backside power delivery and complex debug/defect localization workflows.
- Standardize and automate end-to-end diagnostics flows to improve repeatability, efficiency, and time-to-root-cause.
- Close the loop between diagnostic signatures, failure classifications, physical FA results, product learning, and foundry feedback.
- Promote diagnostic-friendly design and DFT practices and integrate prototype debug techniques into production diagnostics platforms.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, leadership experience, and domain expertise required for this senior role.
- 20+ years of experience in semiconductor engineering, production diagnostics, DFT, test, silicon debug, FA, yield learning, or related post-silicon areas.
- 12+ years of technical leadership and people management experience, including building new engineering capabilities and scaling teams.
- Deep expertise in ATPG diagnostics, memory diagnostics, and production test data analysis.
- Experience with diagnostic automation and high-volume production debug or yield-learning workflows.
- Proven ability to influence design/DFT practices (test content, observability, controllability, debug hooks) and connect diagnostics to measurable yield improvement.
- Experience working with foundry partners and integrating diagnostic outcomes into production learning systems.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
