Role Summary
Senior technical lead on Arm's Central Technology Graphics team, responsible for defining GPU architecture and conducting technology research to influence Mali graphics IP roadmaps. The role spans architecture, prototyping, performance analysis, tooling, and collaboration with product, partners and customers.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 15+ years of professional experience in computer graphics or equivalent industry experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver architecture, models and tools that guide Mali graphics product decisions and enable execution by engineering teams.
- Define and evolve Mali GPU architecture for modern graphics APIs and market needs.
- Perform high-level performance modelling and analysis for hardware features, benchmarks and applications.
- Develop and improve architectural exploration and performance analysis tools.
- Assess system-level trade-offs across hardware, memory subsystems and system software.
- Prototype and run experimental investigations and hands-on technology research.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, product groups, partners and customers to deliver solutions into products.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience required to succeed in this role.
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in computer graphics or equivalent industry experience.
- Deep background in GPU architecture and graphics systems.
- Proven ability to quantify and balance power, performance and area trade-offs for product requirements.
- Strong programming skills in C and C++; experience with scripting languages for tooling.
- Practical knowledge of graphics APIs (e.g. OpenGL, OpenCL, DirectX) and graphics pipelines.
- Experience with performance modelling, benchmarks and workload analysis.
- Effective communicator and collaborator within global, multidisciplinary teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Track record of driving architecture development focused on PPAB (performance, power, area, bandwidth) optimizations.
- Experience with micro-architecture performance modelling and RTL design for GPUs.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (BSEE or BSCS) required; MS or PhD in EE/CS preferred. Equivalent practical industry experience will be considered.
