Display Software Engineer

Role Summary

Develop drivers and software components for the Snapdragon Display Processing Unit (DPU) to enable efficient content processing from video decoders, cameras, and GPUs for consumer devices.

This position is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement, test, and integrate display drivers for Snapdragon chipsets with a focus on efficiency and robustness.
  • Develop embedded software involving memory management, DMA acceleration, interrupt service routines, multithreading, synchronization, and API/interface design.
  • Deliver drivers targeted for operating systems such as Android, Windows, Zephyr, and Linux.
  • Collaborate with global teams and customers to integrate technology into consumer products.

Requirements

Essential skills and experience:

  • Proficient in C and C++ programming.
  • Experience scripting with Python.
  • Embedded software experience: memory management, DMA, interrupts, multithreading, synchronization, and API/interface design.
  • Experience developing device drivers or low-level software for Linux, Android, Windows, or similar operating systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and effective written and verbal communication.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work in fast-paced environments.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with DirectX, WDDM, and/or DRM frameworks.
  • Basic understanding of ARM or RISC-V architectures and instruction sets.
  • Knowledge of image processing algorithms, image manipulation, or color theory.
  • Familiarity with high-speed signaling and electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer).
  • Experience with development kits such as Raspberry Pi or Arduino.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Strong academic standing with coursework focused on software/hardware interaction.
