AppleJob Title
Display Electrical Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Display team to define electrical architecture and front-of-screen performance for next-generation display backplanes. The role centers on circuit and system-level design, panel characterization, specification authoring, verification, and driving technologies from prototype to mass production.
Work cross-functionally to analyze circuit performance, propose electrical compensation, and resolve integration and production issues.
Experience Level
Mid-level; requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Define display electrical architecture and write electrical specifications to meet performance requirements.
- Design and build advanced measurement platforms for display module calibration and characterization.
- Lead proof-of-concept system design, characterization, and bring-up.
- Author high-quality engineering requirements, specifications, and documentation.
- Take new technology from prototype to mass production and support production launches.
- Analyze root causes of production issues and propose mitigations.
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews and address integration concerns.
- Define the next-generation display electrical roadmap.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Minimum of 5 years relevant engineering experience.
- Experience in analog and mixed-signal IC design, system design, and semiconductors, including TFTs.
- Strong knowledge of device and panel physics, circuit design, and display architecture.
- Experience with circuit simulation tools such as HSPICE or Spectre.
- Ability to analyze circuit performance, propose improvements or compensation based on panel physics, and define verification strategies.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with image processing and computer vision tools (Python, MATLAB toolboxes, C++ libraries) and machine learning modeling.
- Experience with display technologies such as LCD, OLED, plasma, DLP, LCOS, or e-paper.
- Proven ability to convert performance requirements into electrical specifications and strong written/verbal communication skills.
Education Requirements
BS in a relevant technical field required plus a minimum of 5 years relevant experience. MS or PhD in a related field is preferred. Relevant fields include Electrical Engineering, applied physics, or other related technical disciplines. No specific certifications are listed.
