Application Engineer - Prototyping
Role Summary
Work as an FPGA Prototyping Applications Engineer supporting the Israel sales team from the Ra'anana office. The role combines customer-facing technical support, prototype deployment, and pre-sales engineering to drive adoption of Siemens FPGA prototyping verification products.
You will deploy prototyping solutions, run evaluations and benchmarks, troubleshoot customer issues, and provide technical feedback to product teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Candidates should have several years of experience in functional verification, prototyping/emulation, or application engineering (typical 3–7 years).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include pre-sales technical engagement, deployment, and customer support.
- Work with sales and account teams to identify and qualify technical opportunities and define evaluation/benchmark criteria.
- Deploy and configure Siemens EDA prototyping software and hardware at customer sites; perform multi-FPGA bring-up.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical obstacles; provide customer support and training.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations, proofs-of-concept, and benchmarks.
- Collect and communicate customer technical requirements and product feedback to development and marketing teams.
- Build peer-level technical relationships with customers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

- Practical experience in functional verification, emulation/prototyping, simulation, or prior application-engineer role.
- Knowledge of computer architecture, SoC design, memory subsystems, and verification methodologies.
- Proficiency with HDLs and verification languages (SystemVerilog, Verilog, VHDL, UVM); familiarity with SystemC and C/C++ is a plus.
- Experience with ASIC/FPGA implementation flows (synthesis, static timing analysis, place & route), multi-FPGA systems, multiple clock domains, and asynchronous interfaces.
- Familiarity with industry FPGA toolchains (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel/Altera Quartus).
- Proficient scripting on UNIX/Linux (Python, Perl, Makefile); strong troubleshooting skills.
- Customer-facing experience; strong English communication skills; proactive, collaborative team player.
Education Requirements
BS or MS (or equivalent practical experience) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
