Job Title

Display (DCN) IP Systems Engineer

Role Summary

The Display (DCN) IP Systems Engineer will define and execute functional test plans, verification strategies, and debug activities for AMDs DCN (Display Controller Network) hardware IP across APU SoC programs. The role works within the IP Systems Engineering team and collaborates with design, diagnostics, emulation, firmware, and driver teams to enable first-silicon readiness and production validation.

Experience Level

Mid-level (typically 37 years of relevant experience).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include verification planning, debug, and cross-functional enablement for DCN IP.

  • Define and execute functional test plans and verification strategies for DCN IP.
  • Drive technical improvements in validation/verification tools, scripts, and methodologies.
  • Debug DCN IP issues during pre-silicon, bring-up, validation, and production phases.
  • Collaborate with design, diagnostics, emulation, firmware, and driver teams to enable DCN functionality for first silicon.
  • Participate in pre-silicon verification using FPGA-based emulation, design verification, and modeling frameworks.
  • Lead technical discussions to resolve issues and roll out technical initiatives.
  • Support system-level architecture and debug; assist customer platform support as needed.

Requirements

Key must-have skills and attributes, plus notable preferred qualifications.

  • Must-have: Proven experience in digital logic/platform design, verification, or post-silicon verification.
  • Must-have: Strong programming/scripting skills (examples: C/C++, Python, Perl, Ruby).
  • Must-have: Experience with ASIC debug techniques and verification methodologies.
  • Must-have: Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work effectively in dynamic teams and drive tasks independently.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with lab equipment (protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes) and board/platform-level debug including clock/power delivery and sequencing.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of physical and protocol layers of high-speed interfaces and in-depth PC architecture knowledge.
  • Nice-to-have: Leadership and mentoring experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field strongly preferred.
