GlobalFoundriesJob Title
Director, Test Automation and Data Analytics
Role Summary
The Director will lead teams that design and deliver test automation platforms, test-program generation, tester-to-peripheral communications, test-data infrastructure, and ML-driven analytics for new-product development and production sustainment. This role sets the technical strategy, architecture, and multiyear roadmap to meet product, manufacturing scale, quality, and cost-of-test objectives.
Experience Level
Senior. The posting requests multiple years of experience in semiconductor test, automation, and AI/ML; exact years are not specified.
Responsibilities
Lead technical execution, architecture, and delivery of test automation and data analytics solutions that operate at production scale.
- Define and deliver a scalable test automation system supporting multiple ATE platforms and production lines (Digital, Mixed-Signal/Analog, RF).
- Develop Test Method Libraries for reuse and standardization across products and ATE platforms.
- Design and implement test program automation for varied market segments (automotive, commercial, industrial) to optimize coverage and cost-of-test.
- Architect the layers between testers and peripherals (communications, data transfers, integration).
- Build automation tools for audits, test-time profiling, GRR, drift analysis, Cpk/CZ reports, and other NPDE/Cost Entitlement workflows.
- Create application tools and dashboards for yield, quality monitoring, outlier screening, lot disposition, and real-time decisioning.
- Apply data analytics and ML to manufacturing data to identify opportunities for quality and cost improvements.
- Document gaps and best practices and provide feedback to Design, DfT, and PE teams to improve future test methods and processes.
- Ensure all work complies with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.
Requirements
Key technical and leadership qualifications required for the role.
- Must-have: Multiple years of combined experience in semiconductor test, automation, and AI/ML with hands-on production exposure to test-program development, ATE platforms, and production data flows.
- Must-have: Proven track record building and shipping automation platforms and data systems at production scale (architecture to multi-site deployment).
- Must-have: Practical experience applying ML to test/manufacturing data (outlier detection, yield analytics, adaptive test, automated decisioning).
- Must-have: Strong software and tooling skills: Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow; experience with cloud-scale data platforms.
- Nice-to-have: Experience across Digital, Mixed-Signal/Analog, and RF test flows; familiarity with diverse market segments (automotive, commercial, industrial).
- Nice-to-have: Experience developing test method libraries, real-time analytics, and automation for program audits, profiling, and statistical process reports.
- Leadership: Ability to define technical strategy, prioritize a multiyear roadmap, and lead cross-functional teams toward scalable production deployments.
