Job Title
Director, Simulation Solutions and Business Development
Role Summary
Lead business development and solution strategy for Intel's system-level simulation technologies (virtual prototyping, functional simulation, architecture exploration, power/performance/thermal modeling, digital twins, and related EDA/ESL flows).
Develop and scale external customer opportunities and commercialization models for simulation products (Simics, Docea, CoFluent and related capabilities) by working across engineering, product, business, partner, and ecosystem teams.
Experience Level
Senior β 15+ years of experience in semiconductor, systems, software, EDA/ESL, virtual prototyping, system-level simulation, technical business development, solution architecture, or closely related domains.
Responsibilities
Deliver strategy, solutions, and scalable customer adoption for Intel's simulation portfolio and related engagements.
- Define business strategy, growth plans, go-to-market approaches, pricing, packaging, and commercialization for simulation-based offerings.
- Translate internal tools and methodologies into customer-facing solutions, roadmaps, business cases, and executive recommendations.
- Identify, qualify, and prioritize external opportunities that leverage system-level simulation to accelerate customer adoption and enable larger silicon, foundry, datacenter, and AI engagements.
- Engage customers and partners in solution architecture, proposal development, and technical positioning.
- Build strategic relationships across EDA, semiconductor, foundry, custom silicon, and ecosystem partners to support adoption and growth.
- Establish scalable delivery mechanisms, governance, success metrics, and operating processes to convert opportunities into repeatable business execution.
- Represent the organization in senior-level technical and business discussions and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Balance external opportunity development with internal roadmap commitments, delivery quality, and resource constraints.
Requirements
Must-have technical, business, and program management skills required to lead commercialization and customer adoption of simulation solutions.
- 15+ years of relevant industry experience in semiconductor, systems, software, EDA/ESL, virtual prototyping, or system-level simulation and solution delivery.
- Hands-on proficiency with system simulation technologies: virtual platforms, functional simulation, architecture exploration, digital twin concepts, and power/performance/thermal modeling.
- Practical experience with one or more of: Simics, Docea, CoFluent, SystemC, EDA/ESL flows, embedded software, firmware, BIOS/OS integration, RTL front-end development, or hardware/software co-design.
- Demonstrated ability to convert technical capabilities into customer-facing value propositions, scalable solution offerings, and repeatable adoption models.
- Proven business development experience: market assessment, competitive positioning, pricing, packaging, and go-to-market planning for technical solutions.
- Strong program and stakeholder management skills; effective executive communication and ability to influence technical and business leaders.
- Experience supporting global customers and willingness to travel as required.
- Position of Trust: must consent to and pass an extended background investigation as required for the role.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Preferred: advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field. (These education requirements are stated in the posting.)
