Job Title

Director, Program Management

Role Summary

Lead delivery of large, cross-organizational programs for Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE). Partner with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to align roadmaps, remove blockers, and deliver scalable hardware and platform solutions.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 6+ years relevant engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development experience (or equivalent). Requires 3+ years managing cross-functional projects; preferred 8+ years for cross-functional program management.

Responsibilities

Accountable for program leadership, cross-functional coordination, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

  • Own end-to-end delivery of large-scale, cross-organizational programs spanning multiple engineering teams and platform components.
  • Align roadmaps, resourcing, and compliance with security and quality standards across engineering and business teams.
  • Track program milestones, KPIs, risks; provide leadership visibility and synthesize progress for reviews.
  • Remove blockers, mitigate risks, and escalate issues to maintain program momentum and delivery.
  • Define scalable governance, processes, and reporting frameworks to enable organizational scale.
  • Drive adoption of automation and AI-enabled workflows to improve engineering productivity.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and program outcomes.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications for successful candidates.

  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 3+ years managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Proven ability to lead large, cross-organizational initiatives and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience defining program metrics, tracking KPIs, and reporting program health to leadership.
  • Experience implementing scalable governance, processes, and automation.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
  • Nice-to-have: prior experience with cloud hardware, manufacturing, or large-scale infrastructure programs; 8+ years managing cross-functional programs.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree OR equivalent practical experience. No specific field of study required or specified.
