Director, Production Test Operations Engineering

Role Summary

Lead production test operations for Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) and Networking chip products, managing teams across US and APAC OSAT partners to move designs from development into high-volume production. Focus on test strategy, ramp execution, quality, and operational metrics.

Responsibilities

Accountable for test operations strategy, team leadership, and production readiness across internal and external partners.

  • Lead and develop equipment and production test engineering teams; set direction and develop talent.
  • Define and execute test manufacturing strategy and performance metrics aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner with technology teams, platform suppliers, hardware vendors, test engineering, and OSAT partners for test readiness and ramp.
  • Drive cross-team problem solving to support high-volume production and resolve complex operational issues.
  • Use test data and KPIs to identify trends, anticipate risk, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure test operations meet internal standards, industry requirements, and best practices.

Requirements

Key must-have skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • 15+ years in test operations with deep experience in manufacturing environments.
  • 6+ years managing senior technical teams in global organizations.
  • Hands-on experience with SiPH, CPO platforms, and ATE/CPO hardware.
  • Strong background in OSAT factory operations; direct factory experience preferred.
  • Proven track record building and scaling high-performing teams in complex manufacturing settings.
  • Data-driven communication and decision-making skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is listed (or equivalent experience). An advanced degree is preferred.
