Job Title

Director, Production Test Operations Engineering

Role Summary

Lead engineering teams and the test manufacturing strategy that transitions Co‑Packaged Optics (CPO) and Networking chips from development into high‑volume production. The role owns test readiness, ramp execution, and quality across US domestic and APAC OSAT partners.

Responsible for building team capability, driving cross‑functional execution with suppliers and vendors, and using test data and KPIs to ensure reliable production output.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 15+ years in test operations with at least 6 years leading senior technical teams in global organizations.

Responsibilities

Accountable for end‑to‑end production test operations and team leadership across internal and external manufacturing partners.

  • Lead and develop CPO and Networking chip equipment and production test engineering teams; set direction and hold teams to high standards for quality and execution.
  • Define and own test manufacturing strategy and align processes and performance metrics with business objectives.
  • Partner with technology teams, platform suppliers, hardware vendors, test engineering, and OSAT partners to ensure test readiness and smooth ramp execution.
  • Resolve complex operational and manufacturing issues quickly through cross‑team problem solving and escalation management.
  • Use test data and operational KPIs to identify trends, anticipate risks, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure test operations comply with internal standards and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in test operations or production test engineering.
  • At least 6 years managing and developing senior technical teams in global organizations.
  • Hands‑on experience with SiPH, CPO platforms, and ATE/CPO hardware.
  • Strong background in OSAT factory operations and experience coordinating with external foundry/OSAT partners to execute ramps.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling high‑performing teams in complex manufacturing environments.
  • Data‑driven decision making and clear stakeholder communication across engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing partners.
  • Preferred: direct factory floor experience and prior experience managing production across US and APAC OSAT sites.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a related field is preferred.
