Director, Product Management - WiFi & Bluetooth

Role Summary

Lead product management for IE-IoT connectivity products (Wi‑Fi & Bluetooth) within Qualcomm’s Industrial and Embedded IoT business. Define product strategy, drive roadmaps, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver connectivity solutions for enterprise and consumer applications.

This is a leadership role focused on product lifecycle, market analysis, and enabling global adoption of wireless solutions.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Minimum 8+ years of product management or related experience; preferred 10+ years in leadership roles.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities include strategy, product lifecycle, and cross-functional execution:

  • Define and execute long-term product strategy aligned with market trends and customer needs.
  • Manage assigned Wi‑Fi product lines through concept, development, launch, and post-launch support.
  • Capture customer requirements, build relationships, and act as the voice of the customer.
  • Partner with engineering, program management, sales, and marketing to deliver products on schedule.
  • Perform competitive and market analysis; develop business cases and financial justification for portfolio decisions.
  • Drive roadmap planning and communicate product vision to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track performance metrics such as design wins, roadmap execution, and market trends; report to senior leadership.
  • Represent the company at industry events and customer meetings as a product thought leader.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience to perform this role; preferred items listed separately.

  • Minimum 8+ years of product management or related professional experience.
  • Proven ability to define product strategy and drive roadmaps for technical products.
  • Experience working closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and program teams to deliver complex products.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Financial and business acumen to develop business cases and justify portfolio decisions.
  • Office-based role expected to comply with onsite policy (San Diego or Santa Clara locations); ability to travel as needed.

Nice-to-have:

  • 10+ years in leadership roles within highly technical enterprise environments.
  • Experience managing high-volume wireless semiconductor and SoC product lines (~3+ years preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth technologies and related development or product management.
  • Track record of driving design wins and commercial adoption for connectivity products.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or a related field. Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science; MBA is preferred.
