Role Summary

Lead product strategy, roadmap, and go-to-market for a product line in Cadence's Custom & PCB Group (custom, analog, RF, and mixed-signal design solutions). The role requires deep analog credibility to engage senior analog/custom circuit designers, translate their needs into product direction, and drive adoption and revenue across strategic accounts.

Experience Level

Senior — requires substantial industry experience. The posting specifies 10+ years in the semiconductor/EDA industry, including 5+ years in product management or product-line ownership.

Responsibilities

Own the product lifecycle and lead cross-functional efforts to deliver solutions that increase analog designer productivity and adoption.

  • Engage and influence senior analog and custom circuit designers; develop deep customer relationships and technical credibility.
  • Set vision, multi-year strategy, roadmap, requirements, and release priorities for the product line.
  • Define positioning, messaging, and technical value narrative; enable sales and field teams.
  • Lead customer engagements to drive adoption, advocacy, and revenue growth across strategic accounts.
  • Define pricing, packaging, and licensing in partnership with commercial teams.
  • Monitor competitive and market trends and translate them into product decisions.
  • Align R&D, sales, marketing, and partners; represent the product externally in executive and analyst forums.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop product managers as the product scales; apply rigorous product discovery and delivery practices.
  • Define and track success metrics: adoption, active usage, customer productivity impact, pipeline, and revenue.

Requirements

Key must-have skills and experiences; preferred items listed after.

  • Must-have: Deep, hands-on understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit design (topologies, device-level design, sizing/biasing, layout and parasitics, PVT/corner behavior, verification methodology) and practical awareness of analog design challenges.
  • Must-have: Proven ability to communicate credibly with and influence senior analog circuit designers and engineering leadership.
  • Must-have: 10+ years in the semiconductor / EDA industry, with 5+ years in product management, product marketing, or product-line ownership and accountability for adoption and revenue.
  • Must-have: Demonstrated product ownership: roadmap, requirements, pricing/packaging, and go-to-market execution.
  • Must-have: Strong executive communication and cross-functional influence across R&D, sales, and marketing.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior hands-on analog or mixed-signal circuit design experience (designed, simulated, or laid out analog circuits).
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with the Virtuoso custom/analog ecosystem and custom IC design flow.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with AI/ML-assisted design tools, modern productivity approaches, and EDA commercial/licensing models.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior people-management experience building and coaching product management teams; MBA or equivalent commercial experience.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required; MSEE with an analog/mixed-signal specialization is strongly preferred. An MBA or equivalent commercial experience is listed as a preferred qualification.
