Job Title
Director, Product Management — Custom & Analog Design Solutions
Role Summary
Lead product strategy, roadmap, and go-to-market for a product line within Cadence's Custom & PCB Group (custom, analog, RF, and mixed-signal design solutions). Report to CPG product management leadership and align R&D, sales, and marketing to drive adoption and revenue among senior analog and custom design teams.
Experience Level
Senior level. Requires 10+ years in the semiconductor/EDA industry, including at least 5 years in product management, product marketing, or product-line ownership.
Responsibilities
Own product strategy and drive adoption across demanding analog and custom design teams.
- Engage and influence senior analog and custom circuit designers; build technical credibility and deep customer relationships.
- Define vision, multi-year roadmap, detailed requirements, and release priorities for the product line based on direct customer and market feedback.
- Own positioning, messaging, and technical value narrative; enable sales and field teams to communicate product benefits to analog designers.
- Lead key customer engagements and business development to convert skeptical, high-expertise teams into active users and advocates.
- Define pricing, packaging, and licensing in partnership with commercial and deal-desk teams.
- Monitor competitive and market trends and translate them into product and positioning decisions.
- Align cross-functional stakeholders (R&D, sales, marketing) and represent the product in executive, analyst, partner, and customer forums.
- Scale the product team: hire, coach, and develop product managers; instill rigorous product discovery and delivery practices.
- Define and track success metrics: adoption, active usage, customer productivity impact, pipeline, and revenue.
Requirements
Must-have technical and product leadership experience; preferred skills listed separately.
-
Must-have: Deep, hands-on understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit design (circuit topologies, device-level design, sizing and biasing, layout and parasitics, PVT/corner behavior, verification methodology).
- Proven ability to communicate credibly with and influence senior analog circuit design engineers.
- Demonstrated ownership of a product or product line with accountability for roadmap, requirements, pricing/packaging, adoption, and revenue.
- 10+ years in the semiconductor/EDA industry, including 5+ years in product management, product marketing, or product-line ownership.
- Strong executive-level communication and cross-functional leadership skills; ability to lead by influence across R&D, sales, and marketing.
- Experience defining go-to-market motion and measuring product success (adoption, usage, pipeline, revenue).
-
Nice-to-have: Prior hands-on analog or mixed-signal circuit design experience; familiarity with the Virtuoso ecosystem and custom IC design flow; experience with AI/ML-assisted design tools and modern productivity approaches; experience with EDA commercial models (subscription, term, consumption); prior people-management experience.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field. MSEE with an analog/mixed-signal specialization is strongly preferred. MBA is a plus. Equivalent practical experience may be acceptable.
