Job Title

Director, Product Management — Android/Linux Platform

Role Summary

Lead product management for platform software and ecosystem enablement for Arm’s mobile and consumer compute platforms. Translate architecture and silicon innovations into software requirements and enablement plans across firmware, OS, tools, and reference platforms.

Work across internal engineering, OEMs, silicon partners, and ecosystem teams to define priorities, drive validation and upstream enablement, and ensure partner readiness on reference platforms (simulation, emulation, FPGA, testchip).

Experience Level

Senior-level (Director). Years of experience: Not specified.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining strategy, coordinating cross-functional execution, and ensuring software readiness for partner adoption.

  • Define and lead platform software, firmware, and reference build enablement strategy for mobile and consumer compute segments.
  • Engage directly with customers, OEMs, and silicon partners to capture requirements and feedback.
  • Translate market and partner needs into clear software requirements across firmware, platform software, OS enablement, and tooling.
  • Align downstream validation activities with upstream ecosystem readiness across architecture, silicon, firmware, and software teams.
  • Drive software readiness and feature validation on reference platforms (simulation, emulation, FPGA, testchip) to support customer engagement and adoption.
  • Ensure feature support in key software stacks and release cycles, including Android and Linux, and associated development tools.
  • Establish traceability from architecture intent to platform implementation, validation results, and ecosystem preparedness.
  • Prioritise features and trade-offs across platforms and release timelines; represent status to senior leadership and partners.
  • Build and scale a team model for reference platform, firmware, and platform enablement.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience for the role, followed by relevant nice-to-have background.

  • Must-have: Proven software product leadership in platform software or ecosystem enablement in customer-facing environments.
  • Must-have: Strong understanding of system software, firmware, platform bring-up, or OS enablement.
  • Must-have: Experience defining strategy and executing software programs that bridge early validation and productization.
  • Must-have: Ability to translate technical capabilities into partner value and concrete requirements; strong partner management and cross-functional leadership.
  • Must-have: Excellent written and verbal communication with experience aligning senior stakeholders around scope and delivery.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Arm architecture, Arm-based SoCs, client/compute platform bring-up (pre- and post-silicon), Android upstreaming, kernel enablement, performance tooling, telemetry, power measurement, or compiler/toolchain integration.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience transitioning prototype or research code into stable, customer-ready software and managing release-alignment constraints tied to OS release cycles.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
