Director, Power Electronics Application

Role Summary

Lead the definition, development, and delivery of next-generation power electronics solutions for data center, energy, and robotics markets. The role sits on a multifunctional engineering team that aligns application requirements with process technology and product development.

Expected to drive technical strategy, design and lab validation, and cross-functional execution to bring new power products to market.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities include technical leadership, solution definition, and team collaboration.

  • Analyze market needs in data center, energy, and robotics segments to set technical direction.
  • Define circuit topologies and recommend process and packaging technologies for targeted applications.
  • Design, simulate, and validate proposed power solutions in the lab.
  • Collaborate with product development, applications, and process teams to transition solutions to production.
  • Build and mentor engineering team members as required.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience; includes eligibility and travel expectations.

  • Proven track record of delivering new power solutions to market.
  • Strong technical skills in power circuit design, simulation, implementation, and hands-on lab measurement.
  • Experience with advanced process technology and packaging, including wide band gap FETs and power modules.
  • Strong technical writing and customer-facing communication experience (application notes, customer support).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work collaboratively with cross-functional, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
  • Some roles may require export licensing review; non-U.S. citizens may be subject to additional review processes.

Education Requirements

Advanced degree in power electronics, electrical engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience (the posting specifies an advanced degree OR 20+ years of industry experience in power electronics). Equivalent practical experience accepted.
