Director of Software Architecture
Role Summary
Lead software architecture strategy and reference software for Arm platforms. Work with central engineering software teams and external partners (OS, OEM, silicon) to define, validate, and drive adoption of software solutions across data centre, automotive, mobile, embedded and other segments.

Senior (Director-level). Years of experience not specified; role expects extensive experience in software architecture, systems integration, and delivery.
Responsibilities
Deliver technical leadership across Arm software ecosystems, drive adoption of architecture features, and produce reference implementations and improvements for partners and open-source projects.
- Evaluate new Arm architecture and IP features and define software enablement strategies.
- Analyze and understand deployed software solutions, especially major open-source projects (e.g., Linux).
- Deliver software improvements upstream to open-source projects as reference implementations.
- Collaborate with OS, OEM and silicon partners to drive standards and enable optimization and differentiation.
- Design and build software paradigms on Arm reference hardware; profile and optimize system performance.
- Lead validation of functionality, security, and safety for software components.
- Engage with customers and partners to support adoption and integration of Arm IP in products.
Requirements
Core technical skills and proven track record delivering complex software to production. "Nice-to-have" skills are listed separately.

Must-have: Knowledge of Arm-based computer architecture and SoC/device landscapes.
- Experience in software profiling, instrumentation, and optimization for real-world workloads (for example AI stacks, run-time compilers, multimedia).
- Strong understanding of complex multi-component systems with demonstrable low-level OS or device-driver development or integration experience.
- Authoritative C or C++ development skills, including optimizing applications, workloads and compilers.
- Experience designing rigorous software tests and taking complex software from concept to production and maintenance.

Nice-to-have: Experience with Android, ChromeOS or Windows systems.
- Experience with Linux distributions, cloud/edge applications and networking software.
- Familiarity with AI software stacks, multimedia system designs (GPUs, display processors, ISP) and SoC architectures.
