Director, Design Verification Engineering
Role Summary
Lead verification strategy, architecture, and execution for complex Edge AI digital SoC designs. Manage and grow a verification team, establish verification methodologies and metrics, and coordinate across design, validation, software, and product teams to achieve first-pass silicon success and production readiness.
Experience Level
Senior level. Preferred 15+ years of relevant verification experience with complex digital SoC designs.
Responsibilities
Accountable for verification quality, delivery, and cross-organizational influence. Typical responsibilities include:
- Define verification strategy and architecture for complex Edge AI digital designs.
- Develop and pioneer advanced verification methodologies and frameworks to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
- Lead and scale a verification team delivering across multiple parallel projects; plan resources and manage execution.
- Drive verification sign-off criteria and collaborate with design, product, silicon validation, product test engineering, and software teams.
- Lead resolution of high-complexity verification issues across RTL, system, and gate-level abstractions.
- Mentor verification engineers and establish organization-wide best practices.
- Represent the company at industry forums and collaborate with EDA vendors and standards bodies.
- Establish verification metrics and quality standards across product lines.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities:
- Expert-level SystemVerilog and UVM for architecting sophisticated verification environments.
- Proven ability to develop comprehensive verification strategies and drive coverage-driven verification closure.
- Deep understanding of digital SoC design and verification (processors, interconnect/fabric, AHB/AXI, memory, security, boot, high- and low-speed peripherals).
- Advanced RTL/system-level and gate-level debugging skills across multiple design abstractions.
- Proven track record implementing new verification methodologies and driving methodology adoption.
- Strong technical leadership, influence, and mentoring experience across engineering teams.
- Advanced analytical and strategic problem-solving skills for high-impact verification challenges.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience leading large verification teams or major verification initiatives.
- Experience with Edge AI or complex digital accelerator designs.
- Experience collaborating with EDA vendors and participating in standards development.
Education Requirements
Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
