Job Title

Director, Design Verification

Role Summary

Lead and manage the SoC design verification effort within Samsung Semiconductor's DRAM Development Lab SOC team. Own verification strategy, execution, and first-pass silicon success for prototype and production SoCs.

This position requires daily onsite presence at the San Jose HQ (5 days/week) and close collaboration with Architecture, Design, Firmware, and Validation teams.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting requests 15+ years of experience in ASIC verification and several years of verification team leadership.

Responsibilities

Accountable for end-to-end SoC verification delivery and team leadership.

  • Define and implement SoC verification strategy, methodology, and flows.
  • Lead engineers to achieve verification signoffs and first-pass silicon success.
  • Plan and manage resources across multiple concurrent projects, schedules, and risks.
  • Coordinate verification requirements and targets with Architecture, Design, Firmware, and Validation teams.
  • Participate in defining and improving development milestones and verification flows.
  • Provide post-silicon bring-up and debug support.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and leadership attributes.

  • 15+ years of practical experience in ASIC verification preferred, with several years in verification team leadership.
  • Proven track record of multiple successful tape-outs.
  • Expert-level experience with UVM, SystemVerilog, and C++.
  • Deep knowledge of verification flows, methodologies, and EDA/tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex project schedules, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Collaborative, inclusive leader who mentors engineers and adapts across global teams.
  • Self-motivated problem-solver with a bias for learning and innovation.

Education Requirements

BE required; MS preferred in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science (as stated in the source).
