Director, Advanced Interface Technologies
SynopsysJob Title
Director, Advanced Interface Technologies
Role Summary
Lead analog and mixed-signal engineering teams to define and deliver next-generation high-speed interface IP (PCIe, SerDes, PLLs, CDRs, ADC/DAC, power management). Own technology roadmaps, drive cross-functional execution, and champion AI-driven design methodologies to accelerate delivery and improve silicon success.
Experience Level
Senior - 12+ years of analog/mixed-signal IC design experience.
Responsibilities
The role combines technical leadership, people management, and program delivery across multi-site teams.
- Lead and grow analog/mixed-signal design teams focused on PCIe Gen7/Gen8, SerDes, PLLs, CDRs, ADC/DAC, and power management IP.
- Review and guide system and circuit architectures; evaluate performance trade-offs and resolve complex technical issues.
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted design methods, predictive modeling, simulation acceleration, and automation to improve productivity.
- Align cross-functional teams (analog, digital, layout, verification, CAD, methodology, product) to remove bottlenecks and ensure delivery.
- Lead customer technical engagements, reviews, and escalations; translate customer requirements into engineering solutions.
- Own strategic programs from concept through deployment, including resource planning, risk management, and delivery oversight.
Requirements
Must-have technical and leadership qualifications. Nice-to-have items are noted.
- 12+ years of analog/mixed-signal IC design experience, including production delivery of complex analog IP.
- Proven track record managing engineering teams and delivering analog/high-speed interface products (SerDes, PCIe, or similar).
- Deep expertise in analog design fundamentals, high-speed signaling, PLL/CDR architectures, and power management circuits.
- Experience driving cross-functional initiatives across analog, digital, layout, verification, and product engineering in a multi-site environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead customer engagements, technical reviews, and escalations with strategic customers.
- Strong technical judgment to assess architecture trade-offs, manage risk, and balance performance, schedule, quality, and cost.
- Nice to have: Experience with AI-driven design methodologies, automation, or engineering productivity initiatives.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
