Digital Verification Engineer
QualcommJob Title
Digital Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join Qualcomm's GPU Hardware Design team in Greece to verify complex GPU and SoC hardware blocks. The role spans the verification lifecycle: define verification plans, implement SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, run regressions, close coverage, and debug issues with RTL designers.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically 2β5 years of experience in digital hardware verification or a related semiconductor engineering role.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include implementation and execution of verification environments and workflows to ensure functional correctness and performance of GPU/SoC blocks.
- Develop and maintain reusable SystemVerilog/UVM verification environments and testbenches.
- Create verification plans, directed and constrained-random tests, and functional coverage models.
- Verify control logic, datapaths, register interfaces, FIFOs, pipelines, arbiters, and data-movement functions.
- Verify interface and protocol behavior (e.g., AMBA AXI/AHB where applicable).
- Develop assertions and protocol checks to detect violations early.
- Run simulations and regressions, analyze failures, and perform root-cause debug.
- Collaborate with RTL designers to reproduce and resolve functional issues.
- Track verification progress, perform coverage analysis, and support closure activities.
- Document testbench architecture, test scenarios, debug findings, and verification status.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of verification methodologies, infrastructure, and automation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role; preferred items listed separately.
- Must-have: 2β5 years of hands-on experience in digital hardware verification or a related semiconductor role.
- Hands-on experience with SystemVerilog and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Practical experience with UVM (Universal Verification Methodology).
- Understanding of verification planning, constrained-random testing, assertions, scoreboards, functional and code coverage, and regression management.
- Solid understanding of digital design fundamentals: synchronous logic, FSMs, pipelining, FIFOs, arbitration, clocking, and reset behavior.
- Familiarity with simulation, waveform debugging, and common RTL verification flows.
- Ability to analyze specifications and convert them into effective verification scenarios; strong analytical and debugging skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with CPU or GPU designs, memory controllers, DMA engines, or high-throughput interfaces.
- Experience developing SystemVerilog Assertions and protocol checkers.
- Familiarity with C/C++, Python, Perl, or Tcl for test generation, automation, and analysis.
- Knowledge of formal verification, emulation, FPGA prototyping, or silicon validation.
- Exposure to industry-standard EDA tools for simulation, coverage, and regression management.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field - or equivalent practical experience.
