Digital/RTL IC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and verify digital controllers for high-performance analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters. Work on RTL development, behavioral modeling, and verification for mixed-signal data-converter projects in advanced CMOS technologies.

The role supports synthesis, timing-closure, and place-and-route flows and collaborates with analog and backend teams to deliver mixed-signal ASIC blocks.

Experience Level

Entry-level — approximately 2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include RTL development and verification for digital control logic used with high-performance data converters.

• Write and maintain Verilog RTL for state machines, arithmetic units, and combinational logic.
• Develop behavioral models and testbenches; perform functional verification.
• Support synthesis and timing-closure activities for mixed-signal controllers.
• Coordinate with analog and backend teams during P&R and integration.
• Implement design constraints and manage multiple clock domains and clock gating.
• Debug mixed-signal control loops and validate digital interfaces to analog blocks (e.g., ADC/DAC backends, digital PLLs).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.

• Strong foundation in digital ASIC design concepts.
• Hands-on experience coding Verilog RTL (state machines, adders, multipliers, combinatorial logic).
• Experience writing thorough testbenches and performing verification.
• Familiarity with behavioral Verilog constructs (including wreals).
• Understanding of constraints for mixed-signal designs, multiple clock domains, and clock gating.
• Experience supporting synthesis, timing closure, and P&R flows.

Nice-to-have:

• Basic knowledge of SystemVerilog and assertions.
• Familiarity with signal processing concepts; MATLAB experience preferred.

Education Requirements

BS/BE or MS/MTech (electrical/computer engineering or related) or equivalent practical experience. Posting specifies ~2 years of experience in high-performance digital or mixed-signal IC development in advanced CMOS processes.
