Job Title

Digital Physical Design

Role Summary

Perform physical design and verification for semiconductor SoC products, focusing on layout, place-and-route, timing closure, and design-rule compliance. Work within a cross-functional product development team to implement, test, and improve device designs and manufacturing yield.

Experience Level

Entry-level. The posting requests approximately 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include executing physical design tasks across the digital implementation flow and supporting product development and production monitoring.

  • Perform physical design implementation and verification (DRC, LVS, and related checks).
  • Drive RTL-to-GDSII flows and manage SoC physical design flow steps (PnR, timing, signoff).
  • Perform static timing analysis (STA) and optimize clock network quality-of-results (QoR) for timing closure.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation using Python, TCL, and Perl to support EDA flows.
  • Configure and use EDA tools for design, verification, and test program implementation.
  • Review product requirements and logic diagrams; document design specifications and change implementations.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams on design status, processing, testing, and failure analysis; monitor production conformance to specifications.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Approximately 1 year of professional experience in a physical design or related role.
  • Experience with physical design verification (DRC) and RTL-to-GDS flows.
  • Working knowledge of SoC physical design flow and place-and-route (PnR) processes.
  • Proficiency in static timing analysis (STA) and clock QoR optimization.
  • Experience scripting and automating flows with Python, TCL, and/or Perl.
  • Ability to operate and configure computer-assisted engineering / EDA tools for design and testing tasks.

Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with yield improvement, failure analysis, and device-level testing.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering (including related variants such as VLSI or Physics), foreign equivalent, or a related technical field. The posting pairs this degree requirement with approximately one year of relevant experience.
