Digital IC Physical Verification and Design – Engineer Trainee

Role Summary

Engineer Trainee on the Chip Design team working on digital IC physical verification and layout-related design tasks. The role supports chip development using ultra-deep submicron process technologies and contributes to verification and signoff activities under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Work location: Bangalore (RMZ office). Duration: 1 year trainee program with potential consideration for permanent roles based on performance.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Trainee (internship). Suitable for recent graduates or early-career engineers; typical expectation is 0–1 years of industry experience.

Responsibilities

Hands-on technical responsibilities and support tasks include:

  • Participate in chip floor-planning and layout-related activities for digital IC projects.
  • Execute physical verification checks including LVS, DRC, and ERC.
  • Develop and maintain ERC runsets and verification flows.
  • Perform electrical power integrity analysis (IR/EM) and related verification tasks.
  • Use industry CAD tools for verification and layout workflows.
  • Automate routine tasks and flows where applicable (scripting/automation).
  • Work on active projects under mentorship from senior engineers and document results.

  • Ability to work on-chip development tasks and follow engineering processes under guidance.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn physical verification flows and CAD tools.
  • Basic scripting or programming skills are advantageous (Python, C).
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as required.
  • Available for a 1-year trainee/co-op assignment.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (BTech / BS / BE) in Electrical or Electronics Engineering is required; candidates should have strong academic records. No other degrees, certifications, or equivalent-experience statements were specified in the posting.
