Digital IC Design/Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Member of the Framer team responsible for implementing and verifying VLSI digital blocks for high-speed coherent transceivers. Work covers RTL coding, verification in C/C++ and SystemVerilog, automated test case development, and regression maintenance.
The role collaborates with firmware, architecture, and physical design teams and supports design documentation and reviews.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career. No specific years of experience specified; the role expects junior engineers who will be supported by senior staff.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and test infrastructure for digital IP and top-level integration.
- Assist in writing RTL for digital logic blocks used in PCIe and related systems.
- Create and maintain testbenches using SystemVerilog.
- Run simulations, review waveforms, and identify/report issues.
- Implement automated test cases and build/maintain regression benches.
- Participate in verification activities such as functional testing and basic protocol checks.
- Support preparation of documentation, micro-architecture details, and design reviews.
- Use debug tools, assertions, and protocol analysis methods under guidance.
- Collaborate with design, firmware, and physical design teams to ensure system integration.

Must-have: Fluency in C, C++, and Python; basic working knowledge of Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL; solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts; ability to work independently and in teams; effective communication skills.

Nice-to-have: Familiarity with communications standards and framing structures (e.g., Ethernet); basic knowledge of standard verification methodologies (for example UVM), test planning, and regression strategies; experience with VLSI or FPGA architecture and implementation; experience solving high-speed design challenges.
Education Requirements
Engineering degree in electronics, computer, or software engineering (e.g., Bachelor's in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field) is specified.
