Digital IC Design Engineer - USB Products
Role Summary
Design and implement digital logic for USB 2.0 and eUSB2 hubs, hosts, and bridges. Contribute to RTL design, verification, and DFT for high-speed mixed-signal communication integrated circuits.
Work with a cross-functional team of analog and digital engineers to deliver high-performance interface solutions using advanced process technology.
Experience Level
Entry-level. Minimum 2 years of experience in digital design as stated in the minimum requirements.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on RTL development, verification, evaluation, and debugging of high-speed communication ICs.
- Write and maintain RTL (Verilog) for USB and related high-speed interfaces.
- Perform design verification, simulation, evaluation, and debug at behavioral and circuit levels.
- Implement and support DFT strategies and work within AMS environments.
- Prepare test methods and specifications; contribute to application notes, datasheets, and demo boards.
- Develop solutions to complex design problems and assess multiple technical approaches.
- Coordinate with analog and digital designers; participate in technical workgroups and design reviews.
- Plan and organize tasks to meet project schedules and deliverables.
Requirements
Key skills and experience required and preferred for success in this role.
- Must-have: Minimum 2 years of digital design experience; thorough understanding of digital logic design flow; working knowledge of Verilog and simulators; systematic problem-solving ability.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with SystemVerilog, AMS, and UVM; experience with USB or other serial protocols (PCIe, DisplayPort, Ethernet); embedded processor integration and firmware experience; familiarity with FPGA design flow and ASIC emulation; exposure to analog IC design methods.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering required. Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred.
