Job Title

Digital IC Design Engineer - USB Products

Role Summary

Design RTL and verification for USB 2.0 and eUSB2 hubs, hosts, and bridges. Work on high-speed mixed-signal communication chips, developing high-performance digital circuits that interface with analog circuitry.

Member of a digital design team collaborating with analog designers; contribute technical solutions, DFT, and support bring-up, evaluation, and documentation.

Experience Level

Entry-level (approximately 2 years of digital design experience required).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • RTL coding, functional verification, and debugging of high-speed communication chips at behavioral and circuit levels.
  • Develop and execute DFT strategies and verification plans.
  • Evaluate and characterize designs; perform chip bring-up and problem isolation.
  • Prepare test methods, specifications, application notes, data sheets, and demo boards.
  • Collaborate with analog and digital engineers; participate in design reviews and work groups.
  • Plan and organize work to meet schedule and complete multiple tasks with general supervision.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills (education is listed separately below):

  • Must-have: ~2 years experience in digital design; thorough understanding of digital logic design flow; working knowledge of Verilog and simulators; systematic problem-solving skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with SystemVerilog, AMS, UVM; experience with USB or other high-speed serial protocols (PCIe, DisplayPort, Ethernet); embedded processor integration and firmware; FPGA design flow and ASIC emulation; familiarity with analog functionality and analog IC design methods.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering required. Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred. No explicit equivalent-experience language was provided in the posting.
