Job Title
Digital IC Design Engineer | Custom
Role Summary
Join the TI Custom Business Unit's Digital Design Team to plan, architect, and design digital and mixed-signal circuits for ASSP ICs. The role focuses on RTL development, verification, timing closure, and close collaboration with analog teams and customers.
Work includes driving first-pass success, improving design flows, and mentoring team members.
Experience Level
Senior β requires approximately 8+ years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years in design verification of mixed-signal developments.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Contribute system-level digital/mixed-signal specifications and derive microarchitecture from system spec.
- Drive RTL development and RTL/gate-level verification; perform formal checks (JasperGold) and CDC/RDC analysis.
- Develop timing constraints, run synthesis, implement netlist quality checks, and perform STA for timing closure.
- Collaborate with analog teams to define chip-level digital requirements and resolve cross-domain timing issues.
- Engage with customers to refine requirements, proactively assess risks, and drive mitigation strategies.
- Mentor team members and lead improvements in RTL design, verification flow, and automation.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Approximately 8 years of engineering experience as a design engineer, including 3+ years of design verification for mixed-signal developments.
- Practical understanding of mixed-signal design and digital verification flows.
- Experience verifying timing with gate-level netlists and SDF; experience with timing across analog/digital boundaries.
- Experience creating and maintaining tools or scripts for automation of design, verification, and simulation.
- Strong debugging skills for analog and digital interactions; focus on quality and first-pass success.
Preferred:
- Leadership, cross-team collaboration, and customer-facing communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Education Requirements
