Job Title

Digital IC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Analog Power Products team in Dallas to design and verify digital logic for next-generation power-management and analog ICs. Work across the full digital design cycle from architecture and RTL through verification, synthesis, timing closure, and silicon bring-up.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” requires 1+ years of relevant digital IC design experience.

Responsibilities

Design and validate digital blocks and support silicon characterization and release activities.

  • Define and implement digital blocks: state machines, control logic, interfaces, and embedded processor subsystems in RTL.
  • Collaborate with systems and analog teams to develop digital specifications meeting power, performance, and area targets.
  • Perform chip-architecture trade-offs and participate in design reviews; produce design and product documentation.
  • Supervise IC layout of digital blocks to ensure timing, power, and signal integrity requirements are met.
  • Develop behavioral and simulation models for system-level analysis.
  • Characterize silicon prototypes, develop test specifications, and coordinate with test and product engineering to drive product release.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred technical skills for candidates to perform the role effectively.

  • Must-have: 1+ years of experience in digital IC design or a related role.
  • Must-have: Practical experience implementing digital logic and RTL (state machines, control logic, interfaces).
  • Nice-to-have: Proficiency in RTL coding with Verilog or SystemVerilog.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with functional verification methodologies (simulation, assertions, coverage-driven verification).
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with synthesis and static timing analysis tools (e.g., Synopsys Design Compiler, Cadence Genus) and timing closure flows.
  • Nice-to-have: Low-power design experience (clock gating, power domains, multi-voltage design) and exposure to standard interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART).
  • Nice-to-have: Scripting skills for automation (Python, Tcl, Perl) and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Ability to work collaboratively across digital, analog, test, and product engineering teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field is listed as the required degree level.
