Job Title

Associate Analog Design Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the Signal Integrity Products analog/mixed-signal IC design team working on high-speed (200+ Gbps) CMOS and BiCMOS products for networking and communications systems. The role focuses on circuit design, simulation, verification, and lab evaluation from concept through manufacturing.

Works with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to meet specifications, improve design methods, and support product documentation and reviews.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Associate. Suitable for recent graduates or engineers with limited professional IC design experience; mentoring and professional development provided.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include design, verification, and evaluation of high-speed analog mixed-signal ICs, plus documentation and team collaboration.

  • Design and simulate high-speed analog/mixed-signal IC circuits from concept to manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement designs to specification and support existing products.
  • Capture and communicate simulation results, measurements, and methodologies.
  • Prepare technical reviews, reports, and product documentation.
  • Participate in lab evaluation and testing of high-speed analog circuits.
  • Plan, report, and track progress on assigned tasks.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for performing the role; followed by desirable skills.

  • Must-have: Design experience with high-speed CMOS and/or BiCMOS circuits; understanding of analog circuit theory, transmission lines, device fundamentals, and parasitics.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with analog circuit layout best practices (matching, parasitics, reliability, electromigration).
  • Must-have: Experience with analog CAD/simulation tools such as Cadence Virtuoso or equivalent.
  • Must-have: Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and verbal/written communication skills; ability to work in a team environment.
  • Nice-to-have: RF modelling tools (HFSS, EMX), Matlab/Simulink or system modeling experience.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with high-speed components (VCOs, PLLs, wide-band amplifiers, data converters).
  • Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with high-speed lab equipment (spectrum/network analyzers, oscilloscopes) and scripting (Python).

Education Requirements

Minimum BASc degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with significant IC design content; relevant practical IC design experience is preferred and may be considered in lieu of or in addition to formal education.
