Digital Design, SOC Integration Lead
Role Summary
Technical lead responsible for integrating machine-learning IP blocks into complex system-on-chip designs. Drive end-to-end integration from RTL through physical-design handoff, coordinate across SoC teams and external IP vendors, and ensure delivery of ML accelerators for AR/VR devices.
Experience Level
Senior - 12+ years of experience in digital design and SoC/IP integration.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, project execution, and cross-team coordination for ML IP integration.
- Serve as technical lead for ML IP integration, driving end-to-end integration from RTL to physical-design handoff.
- Plan, track, and execute ML IP integration projects and schedules.
- Lead microarchitecture, RTL design, lint, CDC analysis, synthesis, and collaboration with physical-design teams.
- Work with cross-functional SoC teams and external IP vendors to ensure seamless integration.
- Define and propagate integration methodologies, flows, and best practices across the silicon team.
- Identify root causes and resolve issues across design, synthesis, and physical implementation stages.
- Mentor and guide engineers on integration and design practices.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience necessary to perform the role; preferred items listed separately.
- Must-have: 12+ years of experience in digital design and IP/SoC integration.
- Proven experience serving as a technical lead for complex IP or SoC integration projects.
- Practical expertise with RTL design, integration, lint, CDC, and synthesis flows.
- Experience collaborating with physical-design teams and knowledge of physical-design concepts.
- Experience with project planning, tracking, and execution for silicon programs.
- Ability to partition solutions across hardware and software and evaluate trade-offs (speed, performance, power, area).
- Scripting skills (Python, Perl, Tcl) for automation and integration tasks.
- Nice-to-have: experience with low-power design techniques (UPF flows), floorplanning and timing-closure flows, and ML accelerator hardware design and integration.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred: Master’s or PhD in EE/CS or related areas.
