Job Title

Digital Design Manager - Power Interface

Role Summary

Lead a digital design team within the Power Interface business responsible for designing and delivering USB Power Delivery (USB PD) controller ICs for consumer, industrial, and automotive markets.

Drive technical execution from architecture and RTL through verification and ramp to production, collaborating with system, analog, and cross-functional teams.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Requires 10+ years of relevant digital design experience and prior experience managing or leading digital design teams.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Direct and guide team activities for digital design, verification, and delivery of USB PD controller solutions.
  • Define product requirements and participate in system-level tradeoffs with product and system teams.
  • Oversee RTL development, synthesis, constraints, timing closure, and simulation/debug workflows.
  • Collaborate with analog, validation, and manufacturing teams through ramp to market.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and recommend actions to meet project goals.
  • Recruit, develop, evaluate, and mentor team members to ensure efficient operation.
  • Identify and mitigate high-priority/high-risk items; lead the team through crisis periods and drive issue resolution.

Requirements

Required and preferred skills and experience.

Must-have:

  • 10+ years of relevant digital design experience.
  • Strong digital fundamentals: clock switching/gating, synchronization, serial interfaces, Lint and CDC analysis.
  • Practical experience with Verilog for design, simulation, and debug.
  • Experience with synthesis, constraints, and timing closure.
  • Knowledge of ARM processors and AHB bus interfaces.
  • Proven leadership/people management skills, ability to build and lead teams, and communicate across levels.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with SystemVerilog.
  • Familiarity with analog IC functionality and analog/digital boundary issues.
  • Validation experience and exposure to mixed-signal products (e.g., ARM M0+ subsystems, memory macros, complex I/O).
  • Experience with USB Type-C / USB Power Delivery controller architectures and mid-sized digital designs (100k–300k gates).

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is required (as stated in the posting).
